Beltane was in town this evening. I tend to go a little crazy when she’s around, cause she appeals to my wild and crazy side. Fortunately, now that I’m happy, I can be wild and crazy and also sober. We went to college together, and lived in the Condemned House of Many Roommates (summer, 2001).

Tonight: dinner at Wasabi, where I tasted The Best Sushi of My Life (Suzy is rubbing off on me with the Caps For Emphasis thing). It was the Out of Control Roll, and it seriously was. Spicy shrimp, tuna, eel, avocado, and tokiri. Seriously. Amazing texture, amazing taste, I wanted to bring 6 home. Notice there is no hyperbole in this paragraph.

Then: drinks at the new Old Europe, where I ran into Dr. Manley, who is getting married, and Swirly, who is in a play at NC Stage this weekend which everyone should go see. Seriously, go see it.

And finally: My very first 80’s night at Broadways, where I do not drink because they have shitty drinks, and also because I was driving home, and also because I have to go to work in 4 hours. I was hoping to run into The DJ, since I’ve heard he frequents the 80’s, but Beltane and her friend and I all had a marvelous time, especially once they started up the Tone Loc and Aerosmith. I’m a sucker for both. Once we were incredibly sweaty and her friend had started a feminist discourse on the dubious merits of post-Schellenbach Beastie Boys, we called it quits, and thus am I home at 2:30, sweaty, stinky, but not at all tired and not prepared for tomorrow’s day in the least.

Why am I still typing to you? Oh, that’s right, because I love you.
