We all need more websites like we need more of the above, but Renkoo is better than Evite.
Instead of the traditional party model, where you already know who what when where, Renkoo allows groups of people to plan parties at which you are unsure of the when and where (ie: most of my Friday nights.)
They’re still in beta, but you can signup here.

Check out Planypus (http://planyp.us). It’s been live longer than Renkoo and we actually make updates and release new features every several weeks, while renkoo has been stagnant in the same form for several months. We have a richer set of features that helps you make anything from easy and casual plans to go out for drinks to more involved things like a ski trip. (Disclaimer: I’m the CEO of Planypus)
Stay tuned for an updated design and more cool features!

Yan, not sure you’re in a position to bash renkoo (i have no relationship with them btw). I tried like heck to plan a large party on planypus 2 weeks ago only to have many people complain about the service and how difficult it was to use. took me about 30 minutes just to get everything right on the site (entering the invite list was a nightmare), and in the end i had to go back to evite. you guys (and renkoo) have a LONG way to go.

Hey brad, I didn’t say we were better. I said we make updates to our site regularly and respond to user feedback
. We have an update coming out next week. Would you mind sending me some feedback about what was difficult to do (or just post here)? We are in fact starting a large redesign of the site, as we just got a designer on board with us that will help make the site a lot more intuitive and clearer. We definitely listen to user comments and have been making a lot of incremental improvements over the last several months, but you’re right we of course have a way to go before we can drop the Beta next to our name

I’m particularly interested in how we can make the invite list entering a better process. Of course the first time you use any system you’ll have to use emails…once you do it, you have an addressbook built up. In our next version we’re coming out with an importer that will take in yahoo, gmail, outlook, and other addressbooks. We might even eventually be import evite addressbooks.

There must be some system better than my blog for this.
